HOW TO JOIN

In order to Join the Barnegat Light First Aid Squad, first, contact us either by text or email where we will share are application after a brief background check. from there look at our upcoming events page to see when the next meeting is. when you attend the meeting, which is open to all interested in joining, you will submit your application and have your first reading where you will be asked to introduce yourself and state your intentions with joining the first aid squad. from there you will work with one of the officers to do your introduction course where you will learn about the organization and all vital equipment used. if you are interested in driving you will also be required to complete the First Aid Squads driver training in order to be cleared to operate any of our emergency vehicles. once this is complete, at the next meeting a second reading will be done where you will be voted into the organization and become a member.

  • ●  Join our squad of approximately 50 volunteers and help us continue to serve our communities 100% free of charge - Neighbors Helping Neighbors since 1952.

  • ●  We seek men and women who live in the communities we serve--North Beach, Harvey Cedars, Loveladies, Barnegat Light, & High Bar Harbor.

  • ●  Our members are highly trained, value teamwork, and take pride ourselves on our call coverage and rapid response times response times to 911 calls for EMS.

  • ●  Our equipment is state of art and maintained at the highest standards of readiness.

  • ●  All training costs are covered (approximately $3000+).

  • ●  EMT Course Options:

o Accelerated: 5 days per week for 8 weeks
o Standard Class: 2 nights per week for 4 months
o Approximately 250 hours of classes, followed by State test
o Nurses, Doctors, PAs and NPs can challenge the EMT exam with just a

24-hour review class

  • ●  Learn CPR/AED life saving skills that may be crucial in helping a family

    member, friend or neighbor in addition to serving the community.

  • ●  Ride and train with us before and during your EMT classes
